Today was the day--the day my children would be i
So, I started watching for sales and, lo and behold, Organize.com and Kate’s Paperie.com each had some Filofax Dominoes, pocket size, on clearance. I also scored a used red pocket Domino for the boy on Ebay as well as a used lavender mini for the youngest DD. This picture shows the happy Domino fest with one Finsbury interloper. This was a gift for my DH, but he preferred a different, less complicated planner notebook.
His preferred planner is a Hello Kitty one. Seriously.
Yes, he posed for this one. But he takes it with him to take notes at events like Cub Scout meetings and on shopping trips. *sigh*
I shopped for stickers, gel pens, and markers as they keep wanting to snag my FriXions. I gathered everything together, and one glorious morning it was Filofax Day.
My second DD was, amazingly, less than enthused. She abandoned her Filofax to use a Hello Kitty notebook. Like my DH. Grrrrr...
My DS was happy, however. A Filofax of his own. Just like Mom.
And then the last darling DD. She was excited about her mini lavender Domino.
She did this herself. I couldn't bear to correct her--the letters are the right ones! Not bad...
Hugging her mini. Who wouldn't?!
And look what the mama got for her efforts. A new pocket to use as a Book-o-fax. Love that grape color!
Had to trick it out with stickers to commemorate the Big Day.
And if DD #2 continues to reject her Filofax, well...I'll find a use for it. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Excellent post, well done.
ReplyDeleteThere used to be Fun-fax for children, I'm not sure if they are still about or not. There are some on Ebay.
But I'm sure you could create something similar for your children to add to their planners when you go on a trip to an amusement park or a zoo or similar.
Keep blogging...
SMASHING JOB! So happy to see your blog, and spectacular first post.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic=the one of youngest with HUGE "Littlest PetShop" eyes, haha.
They're all so cute!!! DS with his is adorable...little boys..ahhh.
And Ellie's FF looks spectacular! DH's HK notebook is SO. DARNED. FUNNY! And one little "like father like daughter" to boot.
Great job, totally look forward to more. What's wrong with going with just "Filofanantic"? I like it.
I love this post! I think I need to borrow your cute kids as well as Jotje's. Totally adorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat first post.
Awwww that must of made you feel so proud to have them do all that with their filofaxes :-) I cannot believe your DH actually uses a Hello Kitty note book!!!
ReplyDeleteThis has to be the cutest post ever!!!
If my dog(when i get one) (its going to be my daughter) needs to be organised im going to get it a filofax!
I wish my mum was obsessed with filofaxes when i was that age!
:-) made me smile!!!!
@Steve Thank you for your support. Might try different storytelling method next time.
ReplyDelete@Rori Thank you! That little one is such an actor. Her eyes are simply ridiculous, aren't they? What a little ham.
@CP-Thank you for your compliments--you can have them anytime. You can't only take the youngest one, though! ;)
@Imy It did make me proud! My DH needs his noggin examined, but what can I do? Thanks for your kind feedback--glad it made you smile. :)
Great post (and blog)! I've added a link to mine. I love the pictures of everyone and their Filos, even if your DH's is actually Hello Kitty. (Where was he raised???) ;)
ReplyDelete@kanalt He's a normal guy from a town near Champaign/Urbana (U of I is here). He does it just to spite me. Still annoying as Falafel, but what can I do?!
ReplyDeleteawesome! i love how the littlest one is training her domino to lie flat heh heh - that's exactly what i do to every single planner i have - first thing gotta massage it just a little
ReplyDeleteYay! You are blogging!!! And such an awesome post!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read more :)
Oh, and if you ever get your DH to use a Filo, let me know how you did it!
What a great post! I love that the kiddos have inherited your love of notebooks, particularly Filofax! It's never too early, is it?
ReplyDeleteRead this cause of your guest post in My Life All in One Place :) and gotta say I loved it!!!! I've used a planner ever since primary school (my school gave us one every year) and I think it's a brilliant idea you've introduced the little ones to Filofax!! Hello Kitty planner or Filofax having something to write on stuff is always useful!! :):) you might be able to trick your husband/daughter into using sth other than the hello kitty planner/notebook with the moleskine lego http://www.moleskineus.com/moleskine-lego-limited-edition.html :)
ReplyDeletegreat post!
