Opening a Pandora-Filofax Box

*sigh*

First of all, there are waaaay worse problems to have then mine. That being said, here is my little Filofax "problem".

For a while I had the personal crimson Malden. She was my main Filo used in conjunction with the oh-so-colorful Erin Condren planner. All was well in my world. I toyed with A5 binders to handle other information such as crafty things, volunteer work, meal planning, and the like. I was working the planners yet not staying on top of enough things. I struggled when I only used the EC (or tried to do that--fail!). The Malden was used but not well enough. Change. Was. Needed.

Enter the A5 Malden in ochre. Jill, a fellow Philofaxy reader, offered to trade it for a personal so I jumped to do so. This Filofax is lovely. I have filled it with lots of good stuff and feel like I am making more progress than before--I simply needed  r  o  o  m    t  o    s  t  r  e  t  c  h and write MORE stuff down. The EC became the home stuff tracker (projects and the like) and I now have Malden and Malden. Or shall I say did have the motley pair.

Then along came Ms. Finch. She is lovely and a nice change from crimson. I did carry the crimson for over a year, readers. Seriously. I even went through insert disappointment this winter but recovered nicely. Well, for now. But that's for another day.

I can you saying, incredulously, so what's the problem? What could be wrong now?

Simply put:  Filofax overload. I scored some Filos off of eBay, models I have always longed for, and now I need to move into ONE personal. The contenders are:

Ms. Raspberry Chameleon, Ms. Imperial Purple Finchley, Mr. Brown Amazona

Each has his or her own strengths. Each his or her own beauty. Each has something special to offer. Egads--I feel like I am choosing a suitor. Oops.

Now, I won't *freak* out over such a minor decision. It's not like I'm conducting brain surgery or saving lives.  I do value the opinions of others, though. So, what should I carry this season? Hmmn??? By the way, I'm totally leaning toward the Amazona. Shh...don't tell the other Filos....

  1. I'm totally in agreement! Go for the Amazona! I love that binder, the best girly model I think. And the brown is deep and luscious! I almost bought my sister a black one for Christmas this year!

  2. Oooohhh I so understand your pain! Each one has a feature that the other one doesn't! It's so hard to choose! I can't help with that! At all! :-/

  4. Write the four choices down, each on its own piece of paper. Fold them identically and put them in a bowl. Shuffle them round. Close your eyes and pick one out. Just before opening the piece of paper, you'll find yourself hoping that you've chosen a particular binder. Keep that one.

  5. I say the Chameleon. It's very springy and I bet you are ready for some springtime about now!

Just take the guts straight out of your Filo and put them straight into your binder of choice. Takes less than a minute, and if you change your mind it's easy to do a guts transplant to a different Filo. No big whoop! (Sorry for the graphic imagery!)

  6. I was going to go with the Amazona, too! That was one of my biggest contenders when I got the Malden- I'd love to see one in person and in use!!!

  10. This post was so much fun! For me it ended up being about ring size -- I'm using the a5 malden over the a5 finchley

  11. Malden a5 but if you feel something inside pulling you toward the Amazona then perhaps that is your answer.

  12. Alright, who voted for Temperley? I'm holding out for something more fashionable and possibly more fur, less lace. I know...this! But what color?!

  13. I got the purple Finchley while it was 50% off and though I still love my Crimson fat and soft Malden, the Finchley in that dark purple is very elegant and lighter!

  14. I'd say go for your newest acquisition, can't tell which from your post though sorry. I find using the newest one gets the 'jitters' over with and then you can move on from there (:

I just scored an Amazona from ebay myself and can't wait to get it, so I would go for that, barring other considerations.
