*sigh* A perfect first date? Really?
We just celebrated our 10th anniversary (phew!), and our first date was far from stellar or overwhelming. We went to a restaurant I loved (and he hated, unbeknownst to me), it was a hot, icky July night, and it felt like a job interview. He laid out his strengths in character, identified exactly what he was looking for in a relationship, and also leaked out a few weaknesses. I did the same. After dinner we went for a walk around town and made plans for date #2, and it did end up being a lovely date. I guess you could say we both knew what we wanted and simply did some serious cutting to the chase.
I knew that night that I would marry this man.
A perfect first date for me, I suppose, would be the one I described. It led to a happy marriage, sweet and healthy kids (um, four?), a comfortable home, a dear dog (Mabel), and a lifetime partner in coffee drinking, sports loving, child rearing, and memory building. Guess that first date wasn't that uninspiring and ordinary after all.
Awwww thats so sweet :-) xxx
